Quippo & NACIEL stakeholders - Complementing
each other's strengths
Establishing a symbiotic model of operation
Quippo Infrastructure Equipment Ltd. (QIEL), the majority stakeholder
in NACIEL with 50% share is a company that launched India's first
infrastructure bank under the brand name Quippo.
The move by engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to
strengthen its construction and equipment manufacturing business by
taking a 30% stake in NAC Infrastructure Equipment Ltd. (NACIEL), a
construction equipment rental company, is testimony to the growth
potential of the segment in the immediate future. L&T holds a large
bank of surplus equipment, which can be effectively deployed in this new
business. Moreover, L&T itself is a big user of construction
equipment and is a large client of NACIEL by taking equipment on rent at
competitive rates.
Additionally, the National Academy of Construction
(NAC) holds 10%, while Nagarjuna Construction holds another 10% in this
venture.
The make-up of a new success story
The venture is the first of its kind with the unique
model of public-private combination in the infrastructure equipment
rental sector. 'NACIEL' is the fruit of joint efforts of infrastructure
players like Quippo Infrastructure Equipment Ltd., L&T Finance Ltd.,
Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd. the private sector firms, and the
National Academy of Construction (NAC) to present the public sector.
Quippo Infrastructure Equipment Ltd. (QIEL) is promoted by Kanorias
of Srei.
Almost every big name in the industry is on the list and hence it is
but obvious that the growth of this particular venture as well as of
this trend of rental equipment will be a long lasting one.
